IT’S time to hit the beach. If only the best beach can satisfy your craving for some sun, sand and sea, take a look at the lists of best beaches in the world.

Travel portal TripAdvisor released the lists when it announced the winners of its 2013 Traveller’s Choice Beaches Awards.

Based entirely on feedback from millions of TripAdvisor travellers, 276 winning beaches from all around the world have been named, with highlights on favourite beaches in Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Middle East, the US and more.

“For those considering a weekend escapade by the sea, take inspiration from TripAdvisor travellers who have visited these beaches and given them the highest levels of praise,” said chief marketing officer Barbara Messing.
